The First Clinical Research Hospital Opens
The first CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) Conference on Frontier Clinical Research was held at The First Affiliated Hospital of USTC (University of Science and Technology of China) on Oct 16th, aiming for communication about the future of China’s clinical research. This conference is sponsored by front-line science of CAS and Education Bureau, and co-organized by Department of Life Science and Medicine of USTC.
XU Tao, the vice president of USTC, extended the celebration towards the conference, and delivered the speech that CAS valued Life Science and Medicine Department, as it ranks top in China and The First Affiliated Hospital of USTC can provide high-quality clinical resources. He also highlighted that Anhui province had a close relationship, which prepared the way for the establishment of CAS Clinical Research Hospital, with CAS. The establishment will combine research of fundamental medicine, clinical test and medical service, bring the talents’ superiority from CAS and USTC into full play, and promote innovation as well as medical treatment and health.
BAO Xinhe, the president of USTC, highlighted in the opening speech that USTC had put Department of Life Science and Medicine as the premium, which would go towards medical science. He also delivered his hope in the speech that USTC would strive for the balanced development between life science medicine and pharmaceutical industry through close cooperation with different departments of CAS.

Nuclear Science of USTC stands at the A plus level in China, a promising major that has gained great supports from USTC. Also noteworthy is that Nuclear Medicine is the key branch of nuclear science, which has been regarded as an innovative approach to combine nuclear medical science and ionotherapy.
