WANG Yubao received his Ph.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2010, where he investigated the role of PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling in the manipulation of host cell growth and survival mediated by the intracellular parasite, Toxoplasma gondii (Wang et al., JBC 2009, 2010; Cell Microbiol 2009). These studies developed into a broader examination of the multifaceted roles of these pathways in autophagy and in cell migration. His enthusiasm for studying kinases then allured him to join the laboratory of Dr. Jean Zhao at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. His work in Jean’s lab, in close collaboration with many renowned investigators, has generated significant insights into a major type of difficult-to-treat cancer (Wang et al., eLIFE 2014; Cell 2015; PNAS 2016). Dr. Wang is currently a faculty member in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Science and Technology, Hefei, China.
